ASEAN Barred Ground Dove Festival

THE ASEAN Barred Ground Dove festival takes place to attract and establish relationships among the dove-lovers from the southern part of Thailand as well as from neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei. Thai people have believed that doves are creatures which bring good luck to people who rear them and are also the symbols of purity and peace.

The major highlights during the event are the doves with the melodious and sweetest cooing sound and the red-whiskered bulbul singing competition. Also, there are the contests to find the most beautiful cage and demonstrations of cage-making, displaying the local wisdom and selling of the local products.
