Director's Message

SAWATDI KHRAP.
The year has gone past the half way mark and we are into our fourth issue of the Amazing Thailand Travel Talk, our bi-monthly newsletter.

As usual, come August 12 the country comes together to celebrate Mother's Day to mark the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Nationwide the streets and buildings will light up to celebrate the occasion.

And for about half a month now we are into our Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, which is ending on August 15. During the grand sale period you may enjoy great discounts and many other privileges.

In addition, there would also be the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2011, which would be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center between 28-31 July 2011. Some 600 tourism-related products and services will be available for sale at discounts of between 10-80 percent.

For those interested in gems and jewellery, we would like to advise you to shop at the outlets which are members of the Jewel Fest Club (JFC) to ensure that you get your money's worth.

Buying your jewellery from JFC members is a guarantee of quality. There is also a money- back guarantee in case you are not satisfied with the items.

In the month of August and September, golfers should be happy to note that the annual Hua Hin-Cha Am Golf Festival 2011 would be organised with 10 golf clubs taking part in the campaign. During the two months, all the 10 participating golf clubs will offer green fees of only 800 bahts. In addition selected hotels would also be offering a special discount to golfers at 990 bahts and 1,990 bahts respectively.

The Airport Rail Link has also introduced a promotion called the Phaya Thai Express, where commuters need only pay half price for trips between Phaya Thai Station and Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

If Thailand had made an impression on you and you have a story tell, here's your chance to share your stories. You may even be lucky enough to win cash prizes. From your submissions, the Tourism Authority of Thailand would also develop a film to be broadcasted on-line.

For fruit enthusiasts, there is a Thai fruit festival on from May to July. And in the eastern provinces of Chantaburi, Rayong and Trat fruit orchards are open to visitors. This area is famous for its durian, pomelo, zalacca, mangosteen and rambutan.

Whether it's the grand sale or the fruit orchards that attract you, we are most certain you will have a wonderful time in amazing Thailand.

Thank you and see you soon.
