On the I-san trail

A TOTAL of 16 journalists and travel agents were taken on a familiarisation trip in I-san or the northeast of Thailand where they were able to witness for themselves the rich diversity of tourism products available there.

The journey took them to Farm Chokchai in Nakhon Ratchsima that is slowly becoming well-known as a cowboy ranch. Here visitors can get to see what goes on daily on a dairy farm — from horse riding and cattle lassoing to ice-cream making sheep rearing.

Those so inclined can also spend the night at the farm in airconditioned tents and be close to nature. Off the food trail, the travel agents and journalists later visited Nakhon Ratchasima, the site of the Phimai ruins before coming back to enjoy Bangkok's many luxuries.
