Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok Announces the 14th World Gourmet Festival to be held September 2-8, 2013

Welcoming chefs, winemakers and food experts from around the globe for a celebration of great cuisine and wine

Bangkok - June 2013 - Excitement is building around this year's 14th World Gourmet Festival, to be held at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok from September 2 to 8, 2013. Already confirmed are leading chefs and influential winemakers, and as the Festival approaches the list is set to grow.

Since its inception, the World Gourmet Festival has grown in prominence to feature an extraordinary line-up of some of the best chefs, winemakers and food experts from across the globe, all gathered together under one roof for a week-long celebration of outstanding cuisine and superb wines.

Currently confirmed to participate in the 14th Annual World Gourmet Festival are:
• Chef Markus Arnold, "MA Pop-Up Restaurants", Bern, Switzerland
• Chef Jérôme Bonnet, Restaurant Daniel, Paris, France
• Chef Roger van Damme, Het Gebaar, Antwerp, Belgium
• Ned Goodwin, Master of Wine, Japan
• Pascal Jolivet, winemaker, Domaine Pascal Jolivet, Sancerre, France
• Chef Hirohisa Koyama, Aoyagi, Tokyo, Japan
• Chef Miguel Laffan, L'AND, Alentejo, Portugal
• Chef Vito Mollica, Il Palagio, Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, Florence, Italy
• Chef Paco Perez, Miramar Restaurant, Llançà, Spain
• Chef David Rathgeber, Restaurant L'Assiette, Paris, France

In addition to the highlighted chef dinners, once again this year the lobby will play host to cooking demonstrations by the participating chefs in the Gaggenau show kitchen, as well as the much-loved World Gourmet Festival lunch and Sunday Brunch with cuisine from around the world.

The spectacular and fast growing sport of Adventure Racing of the South of Thailand

Krabi Adventure Race Sheraton Krabi Trophy

"Krabi Adventure Race Sheraton Krabi Trophy" brings the spectacular and fast growing sport of Adventure Racing to the South of Thailand. Supported by Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, MBK Center, PTT and The Tourism Authority of Thailand, this inaugural Adventure Race is set to attract 120 teams from around the world.

Scheduled on September 21th, 2013 and part of the Amazing Thailand Adventure Race Series, the race will start and finish on the magnificent Klong Muang Beach where the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort is located.

Adventure Racing is a highly visual and dynamic sport genre, stretching competitors to their limits. It is a sport that is rapidly capturing the imagination of sporting people in Thailand and around the world.

"After the tremendous success from last year, we are very excited to bring again in the paradise of Southern Thailand" explains Serge Henkens, the Race Director and managing director of Active Management Asia.co.,ltd "Krabi is one of the most scenic places in the world with dramatic limestone peaks, the blue ocean, forests, mountains, waterfalls, sandy beaches and a very rich fauna and flora. The perfect recipe for great Adventure Racing" continues Henkens.

"Krabi Adventure Race Sheraton Krabi Trophy" consists of 3 days of activities including:
Fantastic press conference at MBK Avenue in front of MBK center
An expo for sponsors to promote their products/services
Parties and VIP hospitality
A spectacular Sprint Adventure Race
Sports activities on the beach
Shows, dances and entertainment
Trophy presentation
A children club inside the Sheraton premises

Krabi Adventure Race Sheraton Krabi Trophy will offer 4 disciplines: Running, Cycling, Kayaking and Swimming. The competitors will hike and run through unspoilt jungle, paddle and swim on the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea and cycle over the hills with spectacular views on the ocean.

"As we offer 2 divisions, Adventure (easier course) and Extreme (longer course), the race is really accessible to everyone!" concludes Henkens.

The winners of the extreme division are expected to complete the course in approximately 4:30.The fastest team in the Adventure division is planned to finish in around 3:30h.

The Race offers 2 divisions:
Adventure (Short course for newcomers and W.E. warriors)
Extreme (Long course for confirmed athletes and experienced Racers)

Disciplines: Running, Kayaking, Biking, Swimming and other mystery tests

Teams of 2 racers Categories will be: Men, Women, Mixed, Masters Men (over 80 years combined) and Seniors Men (over 100 years combined)
